With reference to your letter No. P/2 of the
8th. instant, I am directed by the Officer Administering the
Government to inform you that you have been granted full pay leave from Mauritius during the period of your voyage, and that
if you leave before May 10th., you will draw for the interval at
least the salary of your appointment here. As to pay after the
10th. of way it will depend on what the Hongkong Government pay
you, but you will not receive during the whole of the voyage
less than the full salary of your appointment here.
